Who we are
Dance Aid Melbourne ("Dance Aid", "we", "us") is a not-for-profit dance show that raises money for Make-A-Wish Australia. It's run by Sarah Victoria Oliver (ABN 59 963 259 585), a sole trader, through her studio Beat 87 Dance Academy. She is responsible for the personal information Dance Aid collects. You can reach us any time at info@danceaidmelbourne.com.
What we collect
When you apply to participate
A studio's application asks for the contact person's first and last name, phone number and email, the name of the dance school, its suburb, whether the afternoon or evening show suits better, and any comments.
When you contact us
Your name, email address and whatever you write in your message, and your phone number if you give it. If you're offering to sponsor the show, we also ask for your business's name and, if you like, its website.
When you email us
Studios email us their music and the name and phone number of their studio representative for the day. We keep what you send for the show it's for.
Tickets and tee shirts
We don't take payments on this website. Tickets and tee shirts are sold through TryBooking, which collects what it needs to process your booking under its own privacy policy. TryBooking shares your booking details with us so we can run the event.
Photos and video at the show
Dance Aid is photographed, and the photos may appear on this website and on our Instagram and Facebook pages. Most of our performers are children, so we never name a child in a photo: captions say only the year and the show. If you'd like a photo of you or your child taken down, email us and we'll remove it from our website and social media.
Studios agree, when they take part, to let their families know the show is photographed and that the photos may be published.
How we use it
- to organise the show: the running order, the music and each studio's representative;
- to reply to your message or application.
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don't use it for anyone else's marketing.
Where it's kept
This website is hosted by Wix, which also runs our content system and our inbox for form submissions. The forms are processed and stored by Wix. When you send one, Wix also keeps your name and contact details in our contact list, so we can reply. Wix may store information on servers outside Australia. Emails are kept in our email account. Only the people organising Dance Aid can see them.
We keep information for as long as we need it to run the show and plan the next one, then delete it.
Cookies and visitor statistics
Wix, which hosts this website, uses cookies and similar technology to run it securely and to count visits. We use those visitor numbers only to see how the site is used. We don't use advertising cookies. When you first visit, you can accept them or keep to the essential ones, and change your mind any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Links to TryBooking, Instagram and Facebook take you to their sites, which have their own policies.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@danceaidmelbourne.com. We'll reply as soon as we can.
Questions and complaints
If you're worried about how we've handled your information, email us first and we'll do our best to put it right. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Read it alongside our terms of use.
